Samsung to Create World's Largest Crystal Valley

"Samsung, Korea’s largest conglomerate, is planning to create the world’s biggest ``crystal valley’’ in the Chonan-Tangjong area in South Chungchong Province by 2010 with an investment of 20 trillion won.

In a meeting with the CEOs of the electronics affiliates of Samsung Electronics, Samsung chairman Lee Kun-hee said liquid crystal displays and plasma display panels are the next big thing after semiconductors.

He said Samsung will make aggressive investments to ensure the company remains the leader in next-generation display technologies and turns them into dependable money makers for Samsung.

``With an investment of 20 trillion won through 2010 in Tangjong, we will be able to create 20,000 new jobs and a new cash cow for Samsung,’’ Lee said." Full news @ The Korea Times
